THIS IS US . . . .

We aim to make our guests feel at home on farm Donnersberg, situated approximately 180 km from  Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport and just 212 km from Windhoek, the capital of Namibia.

When arriving in Namibia our guests are picked up by one of the owners of Plains Game Hunting Safaris where after traveling to Donnersberg will begin. 180 km goes by so fast while taking in all of the mesmerizing beauty of savannah along the way.

7500 Hectares Savannah alongside the Nossob river offering the following huntable species: Black Wildebeest, Blesbuck, Blue Wildebeest, Duiker, Eland, Giraffe, Impala, Kudu, Letchwe, Oryx, Ostrich, Red Hartebeest, Sable, Springbuck, Steenbuck, Warthog, Waterbuck, Zebra – Burchell. This is Donnersberg. This is Plains Game Hunting Safaris

This little piece of heaven on earth has such a variety of landscape….

When entering the farm gates you will cross the Nossob River. The Nossob covers a distance of 740km and has last flooded in 1989. The Nosseb River is formed by the Black Nossob aswell as the White Nossob Rivers.

This white river banks with its dense population of Mesquite trees is home to the free roaming Kudus of the savannah.

During rutting season Donnersberg is home to Kudu males along with their female grazing this area. We have made a water hole close to the Mesquite Forrest where these animals along with other species such as the Warthog may bust their thirst and somewhere close hidden away in the bushes we may spectate this beautiful scenery and within that perfect moment land a trophy as well.

There is nothing a warthog enjoys as much as a mud bath. What a sighting it is when they make their appearance.

This bush hide away is one of eight hides over the 7500 hectares. We have three pit blinds and three elevated blinds as well as a pop-up blind.

Our farm style accommodation is your home for the duration of your hunting safari.

Time to test the skills. ;)

With a shooting range close to home it’s time for some target shooting and getting comfortable before the hunt. Give it your all….this is where bragging rights start – trust me!

With the fire already burning all that you need is your favorite refreshment before dinner is served.

This is where friendships are formed and endless hunting tales are told alongside a warming fire in the boma. Alongside this fire is where we celebrate each and every shot. This is where not only friendship but strong bonds are formed. This is where we laugh. This is where we celebrate. This is us. This is Plains Game Hunting Safaris. This is Namibia

After a good night’s rest, a cup of coffee and breakfast the hunting vehicle awaits…

Packed with a few refreshments and ready for a day of hunting…

Co-Owners Jaco and Johan Booysen will be guiding you throughout the day. Trying their utmost best in collaborating with nature to land you the trophy you always wanted…

Jaco and Johan grew up on a farm in the south of Namibia. Stryfontein, today our home. Lending a hand at farm work and hunting from a very young age. While growing up both, Jaco and Johan developed a love for nature and hunting. After a few years of building up experience alongside some great outfitters Plains Game Hunting Safaris was born in collaboration with Donnersberg.

Elia our driver, tracker, skinner and right hand awaits with his friendly, hart-warming smile. Ready to be of assistance…What an amazing guy he is. Elia grew up in Ondangwa, Wamboland in the North of Namibia and has been working with us for the past 24 years.

Off you go…..

Over the Limestone ridges where the wildlife camouflages in so well that if you miss their slight movements you won’t even know they are there.

Born and bred in the Kalahari this is where I feel at home…if you look in front of you, hart-warming red sand dunes with wide open plains in between, are home to so many plains game species.

Whether you are hunting from the vehicle, doing a walk and stalk or a bow hunt you will be able to take in every little bit of detail while hunting…

Hearing the animals as they move through the bushes, every branch and twig cracking underneath their feet is enough to give you thrills…

While sitting in the hide you experience every sound of nature…from the Crowned Plovers nearby to the sable drinking water along with many other species just 30m away.

With the Black Wildebeest snorting nearby, you spot a Springbuck and try to do your utmost best to avoid their whistling sound warning all nature around them…

Inhaling. Keeping that breath. Keeping that cross steady on your target. Slow and steady.

Wow! What a shot! Well done. Congratulations! Weidmansheil!

This is it…you landed your trophy.

Elia along with other farm hands will take extra care of this trophy.

Whether you want a full mount or a European mount, they will prepare this trophy for the taxidermist with utmost care.

Hunting is such an amazing sport or hobby or whatever you may call it…

Hunting for us is where nature gives back to us…

It’s give and take…or rather…take and give.

As a hunter it’s amazing to know that you provided the table with this piece of meat and it’s such a privilege to enjoy and taste the different species.

Each and every piece of meat is utilized and all meals are prepared with much love…

This is where I come in…

I’ll be doing the cooking. Part of your Namibian Hunting Safari is trying authentic Namibian dishes.

Biltong, Boerewors, Braaivleis, Braaibroodjie (Worth the google by the way. ☺)

A warm shower and fresh made bed awaits you after a long day of hunting.

We offer room service and laundry service each day for your convenience.

New hunting experiences and memories were made. Friendships were formed.

It’s time to head back home…

Before taking you to the airport we will make sure all documentation for your trophy handling are done and that your trophy is in the hands of some of the best taxidermists.

This is not good bye…this is until we see you next year hunting season…
